The Fourth of July celebrations across Texas are always bright and loud, and in Houston it is no exception, with a series of parades and celebrations centred on the Freedom over Texas party, and culminating in a huge fireworks display.

Other big celebrations in the area normally include 4th of July celebrations at Tomball, the City of Nassau Bay, Baytown, Missouri City, Rosenberg, Katy and Fulshear.

Events Schedule

The Freedom over Texas 2023 also known as Shell Freedom Over Texas is an extravaganza of live entertainment and parades along Allen Parkway, so you can expect an incredible evening, topped with the fireworks display. There is also the big concert in Eleanor Tinsley Park with this year's performers including Chris Young, Yola, TMF, Cupid, Keesha Pratt Band, Step Rideau and Payton Howie. The fireworks are scheduled for 9.35pm.

If you are planning on visiting Houston for the independence day celebrations then you need to aware that the whole city typically gets very busy over the full event so it it advisable to make your reservations well in advance.
