New York St Patrick's Day Parade
Marina del Rey on the Pacific Coast of California holds a spectacular 4th July fireworks display every Independence Day, drawing large crowds to the coast to watch the pyrotechnics over the water.
The fireworks are launched from a barge moored in the main channel
of the marina, making them widely viewable from the surrounding areas,
Many people choose to watch the display from as far away as Playa del
Rey and Venice Beach.
The Marina del Rey area gets very
crowded throughout the day and especially as the evening approaches
so it is recommended that you select your preferred vantage point well
in advance and get down there early to make a day of it there
will be a party atmosphere in town throughout the day so it's well worth
being a part of it.
The main fireworks display gets underway at 9pm and last for around
20 minutes.
Best viewing points are:
Fishermans
Village
Burton Chace Park
Marina Beach
Dockweiler Beach
Venice Pier
Many people also choose to get the ultimate viewing platform by heading
out onto the water for a 4th July cruise:

There may well be TV coverage of the 4th July fireworks on the local
network channels and we will provide any details here as and when we
get them. One viewing option however is to check out the excellent live
streaming webcam view, perfectly positioned at Marina del Rey:

If you're planning on visiting Marina del Rey for the 4th July then it is a lovely time of year to visit the area, although accommodation prices do tend to be heading towards their peak, especially over Independence Day week so we recommend booking well in advance.
You can search for hotels, check availability and make reservations for local hotels here.
