Another of the famous beauty pageants that continue to strive for relevance in changing times is the Miss Universe event, which has been taking place annualy and this year celebrates 73 years, and draws participants from all around the globe, as well as being watched by many more on TV and live online.

TV broadcast coverage is typically carried to well over 160 different countries around the world, making this one of the most watched beauty pageants anywhere on the planet. Hence the grand title I guess.

Contestants are selected by a franchise process leading to build up events in a variety of countries, meaning the numbers of participants varies year by year depending on the number of franchises sold.

Date

The 73rd Miss Universe 2024 where reigning Champion Sheynnis Palacios (Nicaragua) will crown the winner, will be held on 28 September 2024.

Location

The pageant will be held in Mexico.
