Update: The 2023 Pyronale has been postponed to 2024.

Pyronale in Berlin is a famous international fireworks competition that invites teams from across the world to provide competitive displays using the excellent and dramatic setting of the city’s iconic Olympic Stadium, known locally as the Olympiastadion.

Pyronale has been taking place each year since 2006 and has the official full title of Pyronale - The Fireworks World Championships.

Pyronale takes place in early September each year, which is an excellent time of year to visit Berlin as the worst of the summer heat has passed but you still have the long light evenings and warm, mostly sunny, weather. If visiting during Pyronale then the excellent Berlin public transport network makes is possible to stay pretty much anywhere in and around the city and be able to get to the Olympic Stadium with ease using the S-Bahn and U-Bahn networks.

Pyronale in 2023 has been postponed this year due to construction work taking place at Olympiastadion and will take place in 2024.

Berlin is a fabulous city to visit at any time of year, but the early Autumn weather in September makes this one of the more pleasant times to head here, and accommodation prices will be lower as the summer rush is over.
