Invictus games

It's finally back for 2023, Invictus Games Dusseldorf will return this September, with 500 military competitors from 20 nations and 10 sporting events, creating one epic Invictus Games!!

This is an international Paralympic style competition which was created by Prince Harry in 2014 for Wounded Warriors after he had seen the US Warrior Games in Colorado 2013. His aim was to "demonstrate the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and demonstrate life beyond disability" and also to ensure that those injured troops are not forgotten.

The very first Invictus Games included competitors from the UK, Aunited States, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Afghanistan and New Zealand

The competitors, who are all wounded, sick or injured are from the Armed forces or associated veterans. They will compete in games including Archery, Table Tennis, Indoor Rowing, Powerlifting, Road Cycling, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Rugby and Wheelchair Tennis.
