Trooping the Colour is a typically British tradition, celebrating the monarch's official birthday with a spectacular parade and display of pageantry that draws huge crowds out onto the streets of London, as well as being watched by a global audience on TV and online.

In the UK the live broadcast of Trooping the Colour is one of the few special national events still covered live by the national broadcaster the BBC.

This year the event falls on Saturday 17th June 2023 - Trooping the Colour is broadcast live on TV and online around the world, but is most particularly popular in the UK, USA and Canada, as well as Australia.
