The Beale Street Music Festival, or BSMF, returns to Memphis once again this late spring into early summer, a key part of the famous Memphis in May International Festival that draws huge crowds to this famous Tennessee city for some excellent musical entertainment.

If I do get to visit though I'm certainly going to try and make it in May, where not only is the weather at about it's most accommodating but you also have the Memphis in May festival. The whole festival is spread throughout the month and includes International, The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and the Sunset Symphony classical music concert but the highlight for me would have to be the Beale Street Music Festival, commonly abbreviated for obvious reasons to BSMF.

Taking place over 3 full days the festival brings a range of artists to Memphis to perform on a series of stages focused around the Beale Street and Tom Lee Park. There is a distinct Blues feel to the festival, as may be expected in this part of the world, but they've also over the years become able to attract an increasing amount of big name headline acts, which puts this right up there with the big US festivals and very much warrants a place on my "to do" list!

Dates

The Beale Street Music Festival is scheduled for 5th - 7th May 2023 and is back in its usual location of Tom Lee Park, Memphis.

TV & Live Streaming

The festival is located across many different sites which makes live video streaming a logistical problem, and accordingly there doesn't seem to be any!

We would expect there to be decent coverage by the local radio stations though, especially those that are official media sponsors of the event, so check out this station with a live online feed:

There is always a chance of streams coming up on shared streaming services so we'll be keeping ours eyes open and post any links here.

One thing the BSMF have fully embraced is the social media revolution and there are a range of updates, pictures and information available via their official feeds on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

Hotels and Accommodation

Memphis is a great town to visit at any time of year, but around the time of Memphis in May the place has a unique buzz that makes for an extra special experience.
