The Middle of the Map Fest, often conveniently abbreviated to MOTMF, is another relative newcomer to the US music festival scene, first taking place in 2011 and continuing to grow in popularity, offering an eclectic mixture of film festival, arts and cultural forum and music festival.

The festival has changed in nature over the years, moving from early May to late June in terms of scheduling, and also redicing from 4 days down to the current 2.

The main focus of the festival is the Uptown Theater, but there are shows held at venues across town, including the District Lot, Record Bar, Riot Room, Westport Saloon, or Ernie Biggs. Some of the venues are 21+ only so you'll need to check in advance if you have any younger members in your party.

Social & Streaming

The diverse nature of the venues at the Middle of the Map Fest makes live streaming pretty impractical, so if you're looking for coverage form the event the best bet is probably to keep an eye of Youtube, where video streams from various shows will be posted throughout the event:

Festival Accommodation

There isn't any camping on site at this festival, but the main venues are centrally located in Kansas City so you'll have no problems finding accommodation close by, just be aware that it will get busy so book as far in advance as you can.
