Las Vegas Marathon 2024

The Rock n Roll Las Vegas marathon is one of the more unorthodox events, as despite (normally) taking place in November, one of the cooler months, the desert location means that much of the race actually takes place after dark, with a late afternoon start meaning runners get to race down the famous Las Vegas Strip in the dark with all the lights showing the way, definitely a unique race day experience! This year there won't be a full marathon distance but there will still be a half marathon, 10km and 5km oh, and it's in February this year!

The Vegas marathon has actually been taking place since 1967, making it one of the oldest US marathons, but was taken under the Rock n Roll banner in 2009 and was expanded to several days of events including a Health and Fitness Expo, a 5k and a half marathon, with the majority of participants actually taking part in the shorter distance events, reflecting the fact that for many this is more about the location than the marathon achievement.

The 2024 half marathon is on Sunday 25th February.

The main events take place as follows:

Saturday 24th:

5k race, starts at 5pm in Downtown Las Vegas and finishes on Fremont Street

Sunday 25th:

10k, starts at 4,30pm from New York New York
4.30pm - Half marathon starts from New York New York

Social & Streaming

The Las Vegas marathon is generally broadcast live by local Vegas TV stations so we should be able to track down a live online stream. We will post the link here as and when it becomes available.

The best we have been able to locate thus far is the Fox 5 Vegas channel, which, although not offering continuous live coverage of the whole race will certainly have regular updates from the event, and is a vailable online here:

Hotels and Accommodation

Accommodation in Las Vegas is actually fairly reasonably priced compared to the main US cities, and November is one of the cheaper months so you should be able to find somewhere decent for your money if you are in town for the marathon weekend.
