The Madrid Marathon 2024, let the countdown begin
The vibrant streets of Spain's capital city is once again transformed into an epic racecourse, with thousands of runners from all walks of life attempting to tackle the legendary Madrid Marathon, a 26.2 mile journey where participants are cheered along by thousands of fans lining the route. Watch as elite athletes and everyday heroes alike push their limits in pursuit of personal glory and of course a personal best!
One of the largest marathons in Europe and established back in 1978, this year will see its 46th anniversary and will see around 40,000 athletes in attendance.
Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid Marathon isn't just about the race itself, it's an all out fiesta, with 30 entertainment stages and stations along the route with of live music, energetic crowds, and a contagious atmosphere of excitement.
In common with other events in the Rock n Roll series the marathon day now also includes a number of other races taking place concurrently, including a half marathon and a 10k race.

Start Times
The main events on marathon day in Madrid starts at the Paseo de la Castellana as follows:
8.00am 10k race
9.00am Half marathon
9.00am Marathon
Marathon Course
The course for the Madrid marathon takes in some of the city's most famous landmarks, including Plaza de Castilla, Palacio de Cibeles, Museo del Prado, Puerto del Sol, Palacio Real, Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, with the finish line in Retiro Park. Hotels and Accommodation
