March Madness is the exhilarating NCAA college basketball tournament that is held annually in March and April. The full official title is the National Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Division I Basketball Championship. It features intense single elimination games that captivates fans with unpredictable upsets and of course showcases top tier athletic talent.

This tournament is played between 64 teams in a straight knockout format over several weeks through March and usually into the beginning of April.

The NCAA March Madness is hugely popular across the country, thanks largely to the wide variety of teams taking part, and attracts vast viewing figures and a level of interest that generates huge amounts of advertising and merchandising revenue for the NCAA.

The large sums of money involved, not least for the salaries of the top coaches, has led to an increasing amount of criticism about the athletes themselves remaining unpaid, a controversy that is sure to overshadow the event the longer it remains unresolved.

The 2024 NCAA March Madness events get underway on 19th March and continue right through the Final Four until the Championship game on the 8th April.

TV coverage during the tournament is broadcast live mainly by ESPN, with some games screened on TBS, TNT, and truTV, with CBS covering the Final Four and the Championship Game.
