Pikes Peak Ascent & Marathon 2023

This is truly an extreme race and true test of endurance. A trail running event over 2 days, with the Saturday event being a solitary ascent of the mountain, which at 13.3 miles is just slightly longer than a standard half marathon.

This is followed by the event more challenging round trip marathon on the Sunday, where although the descent is technically less difficult than the ascent, anyone who has run downhill for long periods, especially on steep slopes, will tell you that coming down can actually be even trickier and more wearing than the uphill section.

Pikes Peak is of course an iconic US destination in it's own right, representing the highest summit of the southern front range of the world famous Rocky Mountains.

Hotels and Accommodation

Accommodation is at a premium in the area, with majority of participants and spectators bringing their own with them, either via motorhome or camping options.
