The Prague Marathon, also variously known as the Prague International Marathon or by the sponsor's title of Volkswagen Prague Marathon is part of a full weekend of athletic events in the Czech capital, which also includes team and relay marathon races, family mile and bambini run!

The Prague marathon has been taking place every year since 1995 and is one of the most popular in the world, in no small part thanks to the very scenic course. In excess of 10,000 athletes take part each year and the event is a Boston marathon qualifier.

Date

The Volkswagen Prague Marathon will take place on Sunday 7th May 2023.

Start Time

The main Prague marathon gets underway at 9am from the Old Town Square.

Marathon Course

The Prague marathon runs on a circuit around the city, ending 26 miles later back in the Old Town Square. Many of the city's most famous sights are covered along the marathon route, including:

Charles Bridge
Vltava River
Astronomical Clock
Prague Castle
